Who Are We?
Will and Jon built up GreenWheels through a love for all things (well, most things) green! They don't profess to being eco warriors, but if they can help control our carbon footprints and start to reduce the UK's greenhouse gas emissions, it'll help them sleep a little easier at night.
Having become despondent with public transport and disliked the idea of paying the congestion-charge plus all the costly expenses of taking a car into town, this rapidly growing alternative took centre stage.
Our Aim
GreenWheels was set up to provide a consolidated view of 'best of breed' electric cars and scooters for the urban commuter. Borne out of...well frustration, having been forced to scour the web in search of their very own electric vehicle (EV) with all the associated headaches and questions of "will it last? how do I know it's actually any good? and will I get left behind at the lights?!"
The theory behind what you see now was, if commuters could see the best options available and get helpful, useable advice, they might make the switch. We're not advocating ditching your petrol/diesel family car; just use it when circumstances dictate and not for a daily commute in traffic that averages 6.5 mph!
We've hunted high and low to whittle down the runners and riders to bring you only the cream of the crop (if you think we've missed a trick and failed to shortlist a potential electric superstar please do let us know - having said that, we do pride ourselves on being particularly well informed of what's hot on the market at the moment!)
All our cars and bikes have been mercilessly tested to ensure they really do hit our standards. We try to include a short synopsis of why it's made it on to GreenWheels so you can come someway in understanding the method behind our madness!
It's a Big Decision
We appreciate that buying something as large and green as an electric car/scooter is no fly-by-night decision. This is why we're not e-commerce and why you won't enter any payment details. We'd much prefer you try/test/feel/understand/appreciate what you're buying before you make your decision. We've built up close knit relationships with all our suppliers over a period of time to ensure you're also getting the best deal.
Do you pay more coming through us rather than going direct? NO - In fact, due to our internet only presence and low overheads, we're able to offer enviable discounts, meaning we're certain you won't find our electric vehicles cheaper anywhere else. All our margins are taken out of the set price the suppliers use.
And what do you get? Piece of mind knowing we're not trying to push you towards any one manufacturer, just providing a refined shop window and helpful advice, if and when needed.
